This was one of my absolute favorite events to produce. My client lived in Laguna Beach in a private gated community and his ocean views were breathtaking. The host was open to different and creative ideas, giving me essentially carte blanche to throw a New Year’s Eve bash at his home before it underwent remodeling and renovations.
One of the things I emphasized was the entryway to the house, with fabric draping and uplights to create a dramatic impact for guests who were greeted with glasses of champagne upon arrival. The outdoor area was decorated with paper lanterns hanging above the pool and lanterns floating above the water, all of which were showered in confetti by the end of the night.
Mark Sedman from Classic Party Rentals did a fabulous job with the lighting, so that guests could even spot the Laguna Beach residence from the PCH. With a history in lighting, Mark is one of the hardest workers I’ve seen in the events industry.
For entertainment we had aerial artists pouring drinks from the sky, samba dancers and DJ Cobra to kick off the festivities.
