For this styled shoot, I worked with a lovely couple, Yorit and Doron Tal, who had renovated their beautiful private residence into an event space, the Oak Creek Ranch. After taking the windy road into Topanga, I entered a private driveway leading into a secluded forest. Here I began to set up an outdoor, rustic brunch theme inspired by fashion and florals. I envisioned something with lots of bright colors and eye-catching details. It was such a pleasure working with my talented friend Ashley Thayer who took these amazing photographs, and Tamra Evonne who created the custom menus based on a series of images I had shared with her. (Tamra’s background as a former fashion designer and illustrator translates well into her new wedding stationary business. She works with brides in creating custom invitation suites based on personal stories and backgrounds, not to mention stylish fashion trends.)

As we began losing sunlight and approaching dusk, the photo shoot transitioned into an intimate dinner for invited guests. We dined outside under the stars and were able to see the venue from a different perspective. Later that evening Doron treated guests to sample from his private collection of wines, some of which he also made on his own. Not only was he a talented craftsman as seen by some of the things he built at the venue, he was also an excellent vintner.
