Being a local Angeleno, I’ve often passed by The Lobster restaurant and relegated it to a tourist’s destination. Until my sister-in-law told me they had great food – so we decided to go for a family dinner outing, and it was fantastic. My older brother and his wife were treating me to dinner for my birthday. And their views are incredible. Even if you don’t go for a sit-down meal, I recommend that you have drinks at their bar because their ocean views are so serene. The night of our reservations we had the most beautiful cotton candy skies (pictured below).
We ended up seated by the window towards the corner of the restaurant which I thought was the best seat in the house because it was more secluded from the rest of the dining room.
After ordering a bottle of rose for the table and Caesar salad as appetizers, we shared the Grilled American Lobster. My sister-in-law ordered the Agnolotti Pasta which was also very good.
After dinner we walked over to the Santa Monica Pier and rode the ferris wheel, (my mom and niece included). My 4 year old niece (who is in her Disney princesses phase and was dressed up as Snow White for the evening) loved it.
The amazing part about riding a ferris wheel on the pier above the beach is being elevated high in the air and being able to look below at the waves crashing beneath you. It’s an incredible experience if you’ve never been… and worth repeating even if you have.
It was a great night out with the family.
