One of my favorite things about Los Angeles is not only the incredible weather but the amazing brunch spots with outdoor patios. The team behind Laurel Hardware did a fantastic job in renovating the old Lola’s restaurant. Though I miss the eclectic martini selection at Lola’s (which had quite possibly the best martinis in LA), I love the new Ysabel set-up. They have so many Instagrammable areas for those obsessed.
Beginning with the small white tunnel that you enter from the side of the restaurant, you feel like you’ve been transported to Greece or some other Mediterranean country.
They have a fabulous outdoor courtyard and steps lined with pillows. I love the wallpaper they chose for the interiors, and the mini-lamps chandelier. (Their hostesses were a bit lacking in the hospitality department, but the servers are amazing and the restaurant manager, Ed is one of the nicest people I’ve come across.)
With my birthday balloons in tow, I was excited to have brunch with my mom, aunt and close friends. I ordered the avocado toast with radish, eggs and endives with an Irish coffee. Their strawberry buttermilk pancakes were delicious and so were their other pastries. Apparently now they have popsicle cocktails which look amazing!
After brunch we shared a strawberry shortcake; everything was pink and gold and I absolutely loved it. If you haven’t been here already I highly recommend it as a weekend brunch spot.
